Saira Cultural Group comes from Wainsoduna Village in the Morobe LLG of Huon District Morobe Province. They have a unique Mask Dance which inteprates their legend into contemporary music.The pictures of the dance below intepretes a legend about a boy and his father. During a trip into the thick jungles in a hunting expedition, the boy was captured by ghosts and taken up the tallest trees. The boy's father on realising what had happened went back to the village for help but upon returning could not rescue to the boy. The Saira Cultural Group and others can be seen performing at the annual Morobe LLG Show held from 15th to 17th September at Morobe Station, Huon District, Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea.The pictures below shows the group performing infront of the Morobe Tutumang Haus, the Morobe provincial government headquarters in Lae City, on the 9th of July 2009.
