The Crocodile Festival or Pukpuk Festival (Pukpuk is the pidgin word for crocodile) is an annual event hosted by the Ambunti people of the East Sepik Province to celebrate the importance of crocodile to their culture and livelihood. Crocodile is found in abundance in the Sepik River and other swampy regions of Papua New Guinea such as Gulf of Papua. Crocodile Festival is hosted every year on the 11th and 12th of August.
