Happy Independence Day, Papua New Guinea
September 16 2009 marks 34 years of Independence for Papua New Guinea. Independence Day is always a public holiday where the citizens of the country observe and celebrate especially with display of the country's many culture and traditions.
Paiam Town in the Porgera Valley where the famous Porgera Gold Mine is located came to life with display of traditional dance, culture, body painting and dress to celebrate Independence Day as shown in the pictures below.
