| Culture and Traditions of Central Province |

Central Province is one of the five provinces of the Southern Region of Papua New Guinea. The Central Province is home to the Motuans, Hulas, Rigos,Koitabus and Mekeos in the coastal and the Koairis and Goilalas in the hinterlands. The Motuans have a famous tradition called the Hiri Moale Festival which is held annually at Ela Beach, Port Moresby to observe the ancient trading route from Port Moresby area to Gulf Province and back for barter trade. Hiri Trade is just one of the known ancient trading routes of Papua New Guinea. There are many other similar Cultural Shows and Festival celebrated throughout Papua New Guinea.
